Principal Planner

The Town of Barnstable is seeking qualified candidates for a Principal
Planner in the Planning & Development Department.  The Principal Planner
will be responsible for advising the Planning Board, Zoning Board of
Appeals, and Historic Commissions on development reviews; contributing
to long-range and village planning initiatives; and working
collaboratively with the public, community stakeholders and other Town
departments on planning, economic development, housing, and climate
change resiliency issues. 

The Town of Barnstable, Massachusetts is a dynamic coastal community
with a year-round population of 45,000 and a seasonal population of
150,000. Barnstable is a historic municipality comprised of seven
distinct villages, including Hyannis, the economic, transportation, and
government hub of Cape Cod.

We are seeking a creative, team-oriented, and experienced professional
capable of handling complex projects.  Successful candidates will have
advanced planning experience, strong presentation skills and the ability
to communicate effectively. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in
urban or regional planning, public administration, or a related field;
and five years of progressively responsible experience in at least one
of the following areas: physical planning, comprehensive planning,
environmental planning, or community and economic development.  A
Master's degree in one of the above planning fields may be substituted
for one (1) years of experience.

$1335.28/wk ($69,434.52 annual) + benefits. Apply at
