Town of Wellesley Part-Time Planner

The Town of Wellesley Planning Department is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time (17.5 hours/week) Planner position.  The Planning Department is responsible for various work related to the long-range and current planning of the Town, as well as the administration of zoning and land use regulations.  Through this work, the staff of the Planning Department provides service directly to the Town’s Planning Board, Design Review Board, Historic District Commission, Historical Commission, and Denton Road Neighborhood District Commission, and works with various other Town boards on related work.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or a related field or equivalent and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.  One year of experience in municipal planning or a related field or equivalent, and working knowledge of applicable laws pertaining to land use within a municipality are preferred. Knowledge of preservation tenets and practices.
