The Town is seeking planning consulting services to: (1) develop a set of proposed zoning regulations for the Littleton Common/Beaverbrook sections of the Town; (2) develop multiple models that that illustrate what a re-designed and re-vitalized Town Common might look like; and (3) provide analyses of the economic impacts of such renditions of revitalization
Regional Planner (Associate to Principal Level) The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) seeks a qualified candidate for a full-time mid- to upper-level position to assist with energy and environmental programs and projects as well as have experience in urban design or architecture. This position, at the associate or principal planner level, will help administer the agency's Green Energy Program including grants administration, assist with stormwater, sustainability, and other environmental programs, and utilize their experience and proficiency in urban design or architecture to develop site plans and renderings for a variety of projects. Required qualifications include a master's degree in planning or an equivalent degree with five to seven years of relevant and progressively responsible experience, excellent communication skills including writing and speaking (telephone, one-to-one, and small group meetings) are a must. Candidates should possess some knowledge and experience of energy, environmental, and smart growth policy and programs in Massachusetts and have a strong interest in these areas. Housing, economic development, and long-range planning including open space planning are all desirable skill sets. Experience with core computer programs such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are a must and experience with specialized programs such as SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are also strongly preferred. Strong candidates will possess project management skills, organizational skills, creative and critical thinking skills, strong communication skills, design skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment. This position performs highly responsible, professional, technical, supervisory and administrative work, while exercising considerable independent judgment relating to land use issues; including extensive knowledge of the principles and methods of land use planning and project permitting. The DLUM organizes, coordinates, and supervises the Westford land use departments, including long range planning, project review processes in accordance with MGLs, local zoning and local regulatory ordinances, by-laws of the town, and other applicable rules and regulations. The DLUM is responsible for carrying out a wide range of research and representational activities requiring extensive experience negotiating with developers, lawyers, and abutters. This position demands excellent judgment, analytical ability, diplomacy and confidentiality. Comprehensive Planner Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District (SRPEDD) Under the supervision of the Comprehensive Planning Manager, performs a wide variety of planning tasks necessary to support the day-to-day functions of a busy Regional Planning Agency. Job duties include: conducting land use, transportation and environmental analyses, transportation and other planning-related studies; drafting plan elements (Master Plans, Housing Production Plans, Open Space and Recreation Plans, etc.); preparing bylaw amendments; managing geo-databases, and designing/laying out model professional reports; serving as staff liaison to area committees, and making presentations at public meetings; collaborating with fellow planners, and helping facilitate enhanced regional planning and planning coordination across Southeastern MA.
